Last Wednesday in Accra at Erata Hotel, we at Solis Microfinance Ltd, in collaboration with GIZ, proudly unveiled our brand-new digital banking app and introduced the Solis Boafo Pa loan—a tailored financing solution for MSMEs. The well-attended launch event brought together business leaders, clients, partners, government officials, regulators, and the press to celebrate a shared mission: deepening financial inclusion across Ghana.
Our new mobile app is designed to simplify banking for everyone—especially informal sector workers and small businesses who have long been underserved by traditional financial institutions.
Making Banking Simple, Fast, and Accessible

Our CEO, Mr. Anthony Abakisi, delivered a compelling keynote speech that emphasized the broader vision behind the launch.
“We are not just launching an app. We are launching a vision where every Ghanaian, no matter where they live or how much they earn, can have access to financial services.”
With just a Ghana Card, a smartphone, and a registered mobile money number, anyone can now open a savings account in under two minutes—no paperwork, no queues, no stress.
What the Solis App Offers

The Solis App is packed with features designed with real users in mind:
Open a savings account in less than 2 minutes
No minimum balance required
Link multiple mobile wallets
Send money to any commercial bank
Target Savings feature to set and reach financial goals
Access to loans based on saving behaviour
During a live demonstration, our Head of Business Development, Mr. Derrick Boachie, showcased how easy and intuitive it is to use the app. He also highlighted our commitment to bridging the gap between financial tools and the everyday realities of Ghanaians.
Introducing Boafo Pa: Loans That Work for MSMEs

In partnership with GIZ under the Private and Financial Sector (PFS) Support Program, we also launched the Solis Boafo Pa loan product—a new solution developed specifically for the asset financing needs of MSMEs and informal workers.
This product was designed in collaboration with selected MSME groups and is currently awaiting final approval from the Bank of Ghana. It represents a significant step forward in closing the credit access gap for small businesses across Ghana.
A Shared Vision for Inclusive Growth

Our partnership with GIZ Ghana has been instrumental in bringing both the mobile app and the Boafo Pa loan product to life. Through this collaboration, we’ve been able to extend our reach and create impactful tools that meet the needs of those often excluded from traditional banking.
With over 55 million active mobile money accounts in a country of 33 million people, it's clear that Ghanaians are ready for digital solutions. Our job is to make those solutions affordable, accessible, and empowering.
Our Board Chair, Mr. Francis Ekow Dadzie, also reflected on our journey—from our beginnings as Metro Gold Microfinance to our evolution into Solis (meaning "sun")—symbolizing hope, renewal, and financial growth.
